The William Diamond Fife & Drum Corps is a 501(c)(3) organization that is supported by member dues, performance fees, and fundraising. Our EIN # is 27-4355651. You can support the Corps in a variety of ways including financial support, in-kind donations, volunteering, and booking a performance.

As a volunteer-driven organization, all donations are used to further our mission. Your donation will help hire instructors, rent rehearsal space, purchase uniforms and instruments, and support scholarships for students.

The Corps also welcomes support from the business community and can work with your company to develop a custom sponsorship program. Some possibilities for these programs include advertising at Corps events or live musical performances at company events.

Fundraising & Sponsorship: Where Your Donation Goes

Uniform Repair & Replacement

One of the Corps’ founding tenets is that instruments and uniforms are provided to all members. This helps keep the program affordable for all our families since they do not have to worry about continually buying expensive gear as their children grow. The cost of this is borne through fundraising and operating revenue. Your donation helps the Corps purchase new uniforms from local craftspeople and helps fund the repair and maintenance of existing uniforms for future generations. If your company makes or sells clothing, there are also in-kind donation opportunities for uniforms and other gear.

General Operating Budget

As the COVID-19 pandemic has closed many performance venues and events since the spring of 2020, the Corps has continued to provide musical training and camaraderie to members and their families. Trying to maintain normal operations without access to performance fees has stretched our operating budget. Your donation will help us pay instructors and maintain instruments as we get back to performing live again.

Instrument Purchase & Refurbishment

As with uniforms, the Corps’ fifes and drums are all handmade by New England-area artisans, keeping a centuries-old skill and tradition alive today. We work to refurbish and repair instruments whenever possible, but new equipment is purchased on a regular basis too. Your donation not only supports the Corps’ young musicians, but also helps support the instrument-making traditions in our region.

Scholarships

As part of its mission, the Corps tries to make membership available to any interested child and family. To help make this possible, scholarships are made available from time to time for our families to help with the cost of membership dues and travel expenses if needed. Your donation helps to make membership a possibility for any interested child, regardless of their ability to pay.

Become a Business Partner

The William Diamond Junior Fife & Drum Corps has been a presence in the town of Lexington and the greater New England area for two decades. Becoming a business partner or sponsor of the group is a great way for your company to support the local community and to reach people across New England.

Over the years, the Corps has partnered with local companies on a variety of projects, including in-house performances for special occasions and holidays, advertising and publicity at Corps events, in-kind donations of footwear and clothing for the Corps, and sponsorship of new instruments.

If you are a local company looking to support youth and/or arts-focused programs in the Boston area, please contact us to discuss custom sponsorship opportunities to meet your requirements.

  • The Lexington Historical Society, for whom the Corps provided musical entertainment during their annual Halloween Graveyard Tours.

  • The Lexington Minutemen, with whom the Corps has helped honor Lexington’s revolutionary history with events like the annual Tea Burning each December.
